CREATING AN ACCESSIBLE FACILITY

Nothing says welcome like an accessible facility: from the parking lot, to the entrance doors, to the worship space, to the washrooms. A walk-through of your property using the following facilities survey can give you an idea of how accessible you are.

Gather a group of interested individuals including at least one person who uses a wheelchair and your facilities manager. Photocopy the Facilities Survey for each group member. Using clipboards and a tape measure walk through your campus answering the questions as you proceed. Afterwards review your findings and draw up a plan to address any access needs.
